The first ‘World Research and Innovation Congress – Pioneers in Healthcare’ conference takes place at Steigenberger Grandhotel, Brussels on the 5 and 6 June, 2013.

The two day event will bring together over 500 of the world’s top scientific health professionals to discuss future challenges and strategies on the key issues facing health research today.

Call for Participation: EuroNOG – an international meeting

Want to broaden your knowledge in ICT topics and meet other people working in this field? Take part in the second EuroNOG meeting on September 10th-11th in Budapest, Hungary.

EuroNOG – an international meeting of experts responsible for the design, maintenance and development of ICT networks. The first edition was held on the 30th September 2011 in Krakow (Poland). The second edition will be organized on September 10th-11th, 2012 in Budapest (Hungary). Subsequent meetings are going to be held annually in various cities in Europe. Our main goal is to build a platform to exchange experience between the operators, ISPs and companies responsible for network implementation.

National borders are becoming blurred, and increasing international cooperation is a key element of the Internet development. At the same time, due to various technical and economic conditions, in each of the European countries the development of networks diverged in a different way. Therefore it is difficult to compare and easily transfer ready-made solutions from one country to another – just look at the networks in Scandinavian countries compared with countries from Southern Europe– different solutions, architectures and equipment. It is best for us to exchange experience and learn from best practices used by local players on the European market.

What sets us apart from the RIPE, TERENA and other IX meetings?

Certainly, our conference is not academic, we do not want to focus only on the theoretical backgrounds of the IP world. We want to provide the greatest number of good practices and presentations including deployment case studies. Our point of view resembles NANOG, as we are looking at Europe through the prism of a global network, treating each country as a state – strong co-operation but also territorial autonomy. The EuroNOG conference will be a vendor-independent meeting place for experts.

Call for Participation – PLNOG 2012 conference

This year in Krakow, a real Polish Golden Autumn will accompany the next meeting of all operators, deployment companies, content providers and network administrators at the 9th edition of the PLNOG conference. In response to the expectations and suggestions of attendees of previous editions, lectures again will be divided into four independent paths with an even greater number of foreign speakers and a big emphasis on the educational level. In addition, there will be panels, unique workshops, peering session and lots of attractions.

PLNOG Conference is a unique conference dedicated to issues of maintaining and developing of ICT networks. This is an incredible opportunity to exchange experiences, broaden knowledge, attempt to solve common problems in networking industry and to meet fantastic people with similar interests. The participation of many outstanding professionals, two days of exciting lectures and fun during the evening event make the PLNOG conference a truly unique.

In addition, in September, EuroNOG Meeting will be held – the international meeting of experts responsible for the construction, maintenance and development of ICT networks, which is an extension of the initiative PLNOG to the European market. Subsequent meetings will be held each year in various cities in Europe. Our main goal is to build a platform to exchange experience between the operators, ISPs and companies responsible for deployment.

(For those drawn here from blog posts and other social media sites, Australian Science is a science and technology magazine and blogging network covering new technologies, web, education, scientific materials, and other related fields.)

Starting this March, we are expanding our blogging and network activities to cover more scientific fields. We already have contributors world wide, but we would like to expand our blogging network throughout Australia and elsewhere. We are seeking the world’s best science, technology and education bloggers with a multidisciplinary background to join us.

Each contributor, as an author/blogger, will have complete freedom to write about whatever they want to related to science, technology and the internet, as often as they wish, in their own contributor space. We will then provide editing and review services before online publication. Our intention beside expanding the network is to put an emphasis on science networking and relationship-building throughout the Australian and world wide blogosphere in science and related subjects. We hope to raise the profile of Australia’s contribution to world wide research and technology topics.
